Terms
Who you're dealing with
The Artrol Studio, Unit 4, Kala Ghoda Arts Precinct, Rampart Row, Fort, Mumbai 400001, India.
These terms apply to everything bought through this site, including supplies, commissions and workshops.
Orders & pricing
All prices are in Indian Rupees and include GST where applicable. Shipping is calculated at checkout.
An order is accepted when we send the confirmation email, not when payment is authorised. If something has been mispriced or is unexpectedly out of stock, we'll contact you and refund in full rather than quietly substituting.
Commission prices shown on this site are indicative. The firm quote comes with your studio brief, within two working days of booking, and you are free to walk away at that point with a full refund.
Commissions
Nothing is poured until you have approved a sample chip, and for preservation work, a layout photograph. Up to that point you can cancel for a full refund.
After approval, the piece is in production and the booking becomes non-refundable — the materials are committed and a cured pour cannot be undone.
Because every piece is poured by hand, minor variation from the sample is inherent to the material and is not a defect. We will always tell you in advance where variation is likely.
We retain the right to photograph completed work for our lookbook. Tell us if you'd rather we didn't and we won't — no explanation needed.
Preservation work
Preservation involves irreplaceable material, so we are deliberately explicit: some flowers do not survive pressing, white petals go faintly ivory, and lilies and tulips are unreliable. We tell you this before you book and again on arrival.
We photograph everything on arrival and send you a layout image before the final pour. Nothing proceeds without your approval.
We insure your material in transit in both directions. In the extremely unlikely event of loss, our liability is limited to the value of the commission — we cannot place a monetary value on sentiment, and we won't pretend otherwise.
Safe use of materials
Epoxy resin is a sensitiser. Repeated skin or vapour exposure can trigger a permanent allergic response. Always wear nitrile gloves, work with cross-ventilation, and never use solvent to clean resin from skin.
Follow the mixing ratios, pour depths and cure times on the product page and packaging. Exceeding stated pour depth can cause runaway exotherm — the mixture gets genuinely hot and can crack, scorch or, in extreme cases, smoke.
Keep resin, hardener and butane away from children and pets. We are not liable for injury or damage resulting from use that departs from the stated instructions.
Intellectual property
The writing, photography, generated artwork and design of this site belong to us. The journal is free to read and free to link to; please don't republish it wholesale.
Anything you make with our materials is entirely yours, including commercially. We'd love to see it, and we'll happily feature it in the community lookbook if you send it — but only with your say-so.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes fall to the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
