Disposable plastic cups are the most wasteful part of this craft. Cured epoxy doesn't bond to silicone, so once a cup has set you flex it and the whole waste puck pops out in one piece. We've had the same six cups on our bench for two years.
The blades matter too: round stir sticks miss the corner where the cup wall meets the base, and unmixed resin in that corner is where sticky spots come from.
