This is the one place we insist on the real thing. Imitation leaf is brass, and brass oxidises. Sealed inside epoxy it can go green over eighteen months — we've had pieces come back from clients where a beautiful gold drift had turned the colour of a coin found in a garden.
24k does not oxidise. Ever. It costs more than a book of imitation and it is the difference between an heirloom and a disappointment.
